Recipe for puff pastry pie with sausage, tomatoes and onions
Step-by-step instruction:
1. Peel the onions and cut them into half rings 3-4 mm thick. Place the vegetables in a frying pan with heated vegetable oil. Stirring occasionally, sauté the onions over medium heat until golden brown. Cool the vegetables to room temperature.
2. Remove the puff pastry without yeast from the refrigerator in advance so that it defrosts and becomes elastic. Roll out the dough into a round layer 3 mm thick and 30 cm in diameter.
3. Transfer the dough into a heat-resistant baking dish with a diameter of 22 cm, forming the sides of the future pie. Prick the dough with a fork to prevent it from deforming during baking.
4. Evenly distribute the sautéed onions over the dough.
5. Peel the boiled sausage from the casing and cut it into medium-sized cubes. Place sausages on top of vegetables.
6. In a deep bowl, mix the ingredients for pouring: chicken eggs, sour cream, salt and spices.
7. Mix the ingredients with a whisk until smooth.
8. Fill the filling with the prepared mixture.
9. Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half. Place the vegetables cut side down on top of the filling.
10. Place the pie in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 40-45 minutes. When the filling is completely baked and the edges of the pie are browned, carefully remove the pie from the oven.
11. Cool the sausage and onion pie slightly on a wire rack, cut into portions and serve warm.
Chilled baked goods are no less tasty and juicy.
Bon appetit!
